Wraparound care from 8 am to 6 pm is available.
Our open, light and airy classrooms as well as our high staff: pupil ratios ensure that your child’s unique and natural talents are recognised and encouraged from the moment they start.
The Nursery team members are highly qualified and dedicated to infusing every learning moment with fun and inspiration. They span from extremely experienced teachers with master’s degrees, to newly qualified professionals full of exciting ideas, which enrich our pedagogy.
Our aim is to give your child the best introduction to school life and build a love of learning that will last them throughout Devonshire House and beyond.
A self-contained haven tucked away from the hustle of the main school. Completely refurbished inside and out in 2023, the beautiful, natural interiors are complemented by amazing outdoor spaces including:
The outdoor learning area encourages collaboration and imagination, giving your child the confidence to take risks in a safe environment. A covered area allows your child to get out whatever the weather.
From Oaks, in the Summer Term, your child will also benefit from weekly Forest School sessions on the neighbouring Lower School site.
At Devonshire House home-from-home means getting to know you and your child, and doing all we can to make you both feel comfortable and at ease.
It is ringing you to let you know they’ve settled after a wobbly drop off and are busy chatting to you on a wooden block held to their ear. Home-from-home is stroking your child’s hair at nap time because that’s what they need to get to sleep. Home-from-home ensures that your child has the food they like, on a plate they like. It is setting out your child’s favourite farm animals before they arrive in the morning.
Home from home is natural, uncluttered spaces with fewer high-quality items. It is bespoke, caring and nurturing.
Each September, we welcome new children into Acorns and Oaks.
Additionally, for Acorns, we offer a January intake for children who turn two between September 1st and December 31st.
There are no taster sessions or assessments required to secure a place. However, if you’d prefer a visit tailored to your child, let us know—we’d be delighted to accommodate.
Devonshire House Preparatory School is a registered provider under the Early Years Funding Policy for eligible 2 to 4 year olds and offers from 15 hours to 30 hours of free entitlement funding per week. This is dependent on the funding being available, the pupil being eligible, and the School offering places under this Scheme.
