International Families

Welcoming families from all around the world

Around 30% of our children are from overseas, from over 50 countries worldwide, creating a diverse, non-denominational and inclusive community, reflective of our location in a global city. Yet, the warmth of this community spirit has a village feel, bringing belonging, connection and a network for the whole family.

Tailored EAL Course (English as an Additional Language)

Once at school, we offer English as an Additional Language (EAL) specialist support where needed.

Our full-time, dedicated EAL teacher is part of the SEN (Special Educational Needs) department and specialises in helping pupils with little or no English make accelerated progress in reading, writing, grammar, and spelling. This includes focused 1:1 or small group lessons, as well as tailored support to help pupils access the wider curriculum. Our aim is to ensure every child quickly develops the academic, conversational, and social language skills needed to be happy and successful across the school day.

Visa Sponsorship license

Devonshire House School holds a licence to sponsor Child Student visas. Please inform our Admissions team as soon as possible if you require visa sponsorship. We will be delighted to support you throughout your application and your time in the UK.

Admissions requirements

International students requiring visa sponsorship will undergo the same admissions process as all other applicants. However, an online interview must take place before an offer is made, even for Reception entry, with the child and the parent who will accompany the child for the duration of the visa sponsorship in the UK.

Upon acceptance, we ask families to pay the full academic year’s fees in advance, along with our standard acceptance deposit of £4,000. Please note that we do not charge an administration fee for issuing the Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS).

We can support children aged 4 to 11 years old who wish to join our school through the Child Student visa route, along with one of their parents under the Parent of a Child Student visa route.

Fees for international sponsored students

  • Reception: £10,641 (inc VAT)
  • Year 1 – Year 8: £11,428 (inc VAT)

Devonshire House School is working with the Community Liaison Office (CLO) of the U.S. Embassy London, after an official visit from the Regional Education Officer from the U.S. Department of State’s Office of Overseas Schools.

Many diplomatic families from the U.S. Embassy have chosen Devonshire House for their children, whether it is for a long or short period of time. Our staff is very familiar with the American education system and its discrepancies with the British one, and will be able to guide you through the application process with ease.
